I no longer use Fusion… Why?1 min read

I no longer use Fusion for compositing. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re all waiting for some epic story explaining why I forsook such a noble program. You wait in vain. Fusion was never the final goal. Below I will list some of the factors that went into my decision to make the switch now.

  • The advice of an extremely talented Nuke artist.
  • New hardware that is capable of handling massive node trees.
  • A desire to push myself and learn new things.
  • A more professional pipeline that I developed for an upcoming project that Iโ€™ll be doing VFX work on.

Iโ€™ve really enjoyed making the switch and will provide an update once Iโ€™ve spent some more time in Nuke (probably some months from now). In the meantime, let me give you some of the advantages of using Nuke over any other program.

  • Nuke is the Industry Standard.
  • Nuke is EXTREMELY Powerful.
  • Nuke is Fast.
  • Nuke is Full of the Tools Needed To Make Cinema Quality Visuals.
  • Nuke has a more Powerful 3D Workspace.

There are many other reasons that I could have stated, but thatโ€™ll do for today. I look forward to making countless projects in Nuke in the years ahead, but am also grateful for the foundation that Fusion gave me in Node-based Compositing. Keep learning and growing!
